Dear colleagues,

The 12th Symposium on Poultry Genetics from November 8 to 10, 2023 in Hanover was very successful.
We had excellent talks in the sessions and many very good poster presentations. There were very inspiring discussions in and between the sessions and I think you all exchanged research ideas, refreshed old contacts and made new ones.
I would like to thank you all for your active participation and hope you will remember the 12th ESPG 2023 with joy.

I would also like to thank our sponsors once again, the European Federation of WPSA, The Dutch Foundation for Promoting Poultry Science and the industry partners Lohmann Breeders, Aviagen and Hendrix Genetics as well as the MDPI Journal Poultry. They have contributed significantly to the fact that we were able to hold the symposium in such a pleasant atmosphere.

I would also like to thank all members of the Scientific Committee for their essential support in preparing the meeting.
